There is certainly something to be said for a first date location that also offers an activity, and we are especially partial to activity venues that serve Old Fashioneds. All hail having something to do when you run out of things to say, and good whiskey to help you forget that, in an absolute best-case scenario, you could fall in love and spend four or five decades married to the stranger across the table from you—before one of you eventually, inevitably, dies first and leaves the other alone, again.
